Today’s Small Biz Resource has a good, “quick read” article called The 10 Biggest Mistakes Freelancers Make, and How to Avoid Them. While most of these are not new, I did find one that I occasionally forget. So I thought I’d share it with the group.

Thanks Rickey. There were, indeed, some good reminders in there. I found particularly strong value in two. One, doing preliminary research. I often allow the client to provide me with the data and information that they want to once a project has been awarded — and clearly, a little advance knowledge on my part would go a long way in looking smarter than what I am! And two, allowing yourself to slack off. I agree that it can’t happen often (and doesn’t), but with summer behind us now… it sure makes me relish the idea a bit more…

Rickey, the suggestion that struck me most was the call to be yourself. The more I do this, the more I draw my ideal clients, projects, and partners into my network, forging tight, successful, fun, and rewarding business matches.

Isn’t it fun to see what resonates with each of us…especially since all of these apply to all of us at one time or another. The one on following up with the next project is the one that I have to work on. Post a comment
